I have been collecting sea glass over many years and have recently moved back to North Essex after spending the last nearly five years living by the coast at Seaham in the North East of England, Seaham is renowned for an abundance of sea glass that has been rolling in the waves for over a hundred years. Some came from the stained glass industry in Sunderland and some from the large bottle works in Seaham. At that time waste from the glass making factory was dumped straight into the sea on a daily basis. Of course this wouldn't happen nowadays but although unethical in this day and age this has resulted in some very beautiful pieces of sea glass. I started learning how to work with sterling silver many years ago and tidal treasure was set up in 2017 and I have been making and selling jewellery on Etsy since then. I love being able to be out in nature so sea glass collecting for me has become a passion, combined with the love of creating unusual jewellery. My other passions are music, my friends, gardening and cats.
